In addition to other inflationary trends, higher rents are elevating rent delinquency rates. Of that 52% majority, 18% say their rent is up by 10% to 20%, and another 14% say it’s more than 20% higher than it was just six months ago.
Retail sales in the first quarter of 2022, are at $959.2 billion, up from the $887.0 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2021. They are down by $52.1 billion from the $1011.3 billion recorded in the fourth quarter of 2021.
